There is a new version of the Poll Bot that uses the new App system. The new version has a few improvements including removing the need to export the poll after each show. While this version will continue to work; it will no longer be updated. Search "boondog19" on the new App page.

The Poll Bot is a fully featured bot that runs two types of polls. You can run either a token poll or a keyword poll. There are six poll options to use (you don't need to use them all) as well as an option to name the poll, various themes to choose from, and many more settings.

Poll Types

Token Poll: With a token poll, the broadcaster specifies a token amount for users to tip in order to vote in a poll. This is the simplest type of poll to operate.

Keyword Poll: With a keyword poll, the broadcaster specifies a keyword that users include in their tipnote in order to vote in a poll. This has its advantages and disadvantage over a token poll. The advantage is that users can tip any amount to add votes to a poll option. This way particularly enthusiastic voters do not need to spam chat voting one vote at a time. Also, this allows more participation in the poll as viewers can tip different amounts and still vote in the poll. The disadvantage is that it requires users to remember to include the specified keyword in the tip note. While this is not particularly complex, far to often users do not do it.

Available Commands

• /polltheme Used to change the bot color theme.


• /pollexport Prints a string of votes that can be saved on the launch page. This way a single poll can run for multiple shows.


• /polladjust Used to add or sjubtract votes from a poll option. The option number is the number next to the option in the poll (1 -6) and the amount is the amount of votes you wish to add or subtract. To subjtract, put a minus (-) sign in front of the number.


• /pollclose Used to close the poll and stop any further voting.


• /polltimer Starts a timer indicating how long until the poll closes. The available options are:
  
  
  
  • start: Starts the timer with x amount of minutes.
  
  
  • stop: Stops a running timer.
  
  
  • pause: Pauses a running timer.
  
  
  • resume: Resumes a paused timer.
  
  
  • adjust: Adds or subtracts time from a running timer. To subtract put a minus (-) sign in front of the number.
  
  


• /remaining Shows how much time remains on a running timer. Moderators may add the "all" option to send the announcement to the entire room.


• /poll Used to display the poll. Mods may append the option "all" to show the poll to the whole room.


• /pollhelp Displays the list of available commands with an explanation of each command.
