This is a chat filter that allows broadcasters to limit the amount of spam appearing in their chatrooms. (Hopefully, none!)
Visitors are divided into four groups:

• Fan Club Members,


• Moderators,


• Members with Tokens, and


• Everyone Else.*

For each group, the broadcaster can set what level of spam blocking to apply

• None - don't spam block any messages from the group,


• Basic - block messages that include known spam phrases,


• Enhanced - block messages that include known spam phrases or non-english characters,


• Advanced - block messages that include known spam phrases, non-english characters or excessive (character/word) repetition.

Any message the bot identifies as spam will not appear in chat, and its poster will be warned, privately, not to post similar messages again or risk being silenced completely. The bot operates a three-strikes silencing policy.
Anyone may type /help, or simply /? into chat to see the current level of spam blocking that applies to them, and a list of in-chat commands they may use.
Broadcasters and room moderators may type /spam into chat to see a list of any silenced spammers, including the messages that triggered their silencing. If no one has been silenced, /spam lists any individual messages that have been spam blocked.
If any command clashes with those of another app/bot, prepend it with either nogreyspammers or ngs. For example /ngshelp.
To adjust the level of spam blocking applied to each group, broadcasters should access the start-up page by deactivating and re-launching the bot. Note, however, that re-launching the bot will also un-silence any silenced users.

Notes:

1. *Everyone Else includes members who have just tipped you the last of their tokens. They will need to buy more, in order to get back into the Members with Tokens group.


2. In anticipation of a feature, expected soon, by which apps and bots will be able to distinguish between messages sent to public chat and those send in private, the start bot settings offer a Block Spam in Private Messages choice of either Yes or No. Currently, spam blocking applies equally to both public and private messages. But when the anticipated feature is rolled out, the No option will allow broadcasters to choose not to block spam sent by users in private messages in their room. Until then, No defaults to an (Auto) Yes setting.


3. This bot uses the same anti-spam engine as SpHammer, so there is no need to run both bots simultaneously. Either bot will prevent spam appearing in chat. However, No Grey Spammers is recommended if you want to stop members who have been identified as spammers from posting any messages in chat, as SpHammer lacks a silencing feature and only blocks spam messages.


4. It is recommended to launch this bot from slot #3.
